New Gas Range - Troubles or normal?
      #78 - 12/04/05 12:40 PM (66.182.197.38)

Greetings,

I didn't really find a good spot here to post this question but perhaps we could add a section for equipment?

I recently moved into a new home where we have one of the fancier Gas-Oven ranges. I have noticed that sometimes when I use the "Low" Setting on the range the gas our flame goes out. The gas is probably still running but I am not sure. Is this normal or can the flame go out if you have it on that setting? I understand that I can probably "blow" it out if I move my pots too fast over them so perhaps I shouldn't worry?

Second, every time I start the gas oven, we smell a slight different smell in the kitchen. I wouldn't say that it is pure gas but I am sure there is some gas in the air since so much is needed to light it? Is this normal as well?

PLease advise...

Well.. Had the factory service here and they adjusted tghe gas output a little bit on low and apparently the smell for the stove is normal. No leaks...

Oh well... I think I'd prefer the gas Range and the elelctric/convection oven actually if we were to do this again.

Cheers!
